Carriage House

Carriage House is an idyllic, romantic room located on the back side of the ground floor of the Inn. (Note: The ground floor is one level below the first floor due to the slope of the land on which the Inn sits.) This guest room, which can accommodate two persons, is named in recognition of the horse-drawn carriages that were housed in an adjoining part of the Inn in the era before automobiles. Carriage House has a bedroom, sitting area, outdoor patio and private bathroom. The bedroom is decorated in calming shades of light blue and yellow and is furnished with an antique iron queen bed, built-in bookshelves lined with classic and contemporary works of fiction and nonfiction, and padded window seats overlooking the garden. The sitting area features a wicker loveseat and chair, gas-log stove, more built-in bookshelves, and writing table. The outdoor patio is accessed through large French doors and is furnished with two Adirondack chairs and colorful planters. The bathroom includes a walk-in shower. Carriage House, especially from its patio, has peaceful views of the Inn’s beautiful, park-like garden. While we love all our guest rooms, Carriage House is, in our view, one of our two best rooms.
