Boat Launching Ramps
This ramp is located just off Route 1 in Lincolnville, to the right of the ferry terminal. At low tides, this ramp is unusable due its low drop-off angle. This is an ideal location for trips to Warren Island (a State Park) and Islesboro, both of which have docks to tie up to.
This ramp is located on Route 52, on Megunticook Lake. Take Route 52 (Mountain Street) out of Camden and drive about three miles. You will come to a downhill and the lake will be on your left. As soon as you see it you will find a paved parking area on your left. You will see the ramp dock. It is separate from the swimming area that is at the end of the cove. This ramp is accessible at all times and has a dock for easy boarding.
This ramp is located on Route 105, on Megunticook Lake, about 2.5 miles from Route 1 in Camden. Look for a very small bridge and a parking area. The ramp is very shallow.
There are two places to launch on Camden Harbor:
- A ramp is located on the north side of Camden Harbor to the left of the condos near Wayfarer Marine. This is a public ramp that does not have a dock but gives immediate access to Camden Harbor. Parking is free. Take Sea Street off Route 1 leaving Camden and drive straight until the road dead ends at a T. Go left (the condos will be on your right once you turn). Continue about 50 yards to the ramp that lies on the left side of the condos. The ramp is paved.
- On the far side of Harbor Park, across from the Library Amphitheatre, there is a public kayak hand launch.
The Marine Park is the town landing in Rockport near the Goose River Bridge. This ramp is the best in the area for salt water access, as it has a nice finger dock for easy loading and unloading. The ramp is in a sheltered inlet, so waves are not a problem when launching or hauling a craft. The park is on the south side of the harbor. Its entrance is marked and easy to find off Pascal’s Avenue heading over the river away from the village center.
This ramp is located on Route 17 between Rockland and Camden. Chickawaukee Lake is a small lake popular for jet skis and windsurfing.
This ramp is located off Route 73 in Rockland. Take a left off Route 73 about a half mile outside of town. This is a highly used ramp, and there is a $5 launching fee in the summer. The ramp is a dual ramp.
