Our Garden

The Garden at the Camden Maine Stay Inn, which at over an acre feels more like a small park, is really coming into its own.  The ferns are waist high or higher, and the hostas, lilies, hydrangeas and foxglove are blooming.   You can enjoy the lush scenery and peaceful serenity from the Adirondack chairs in the center of the garden.  There is also a moss covered pathway in the “wilder” part of our garden where you can wander next to the stream that flows down from Mount Battie to the harbor. You can cross a granite bridge over the stream where you can relax on a secluded park bench with views back towards the Inn and High Street.   Can you hear our garden calling you to stroll around, sit down and relax amongst all the greenery and bursts of color?

Our gardener, Sarah, has been working like crazy, installing new annuals and perennials; dividing and moving other plants; and, as she says “cleaning dirt,” which to you and me means pulling weeds.  Sarah has spruced up the areas around the Carriage House room’s private patio and has installed pots full of beautiful flowers on the balcony of the Common Ground room.  She also has planted an herb garden on the side of our house and our guests have already enjoyed basil, chives, parsley and other herbs in their breakfast entrees.  Just this week much to our guests delight, we served quiche with fresh picked tomatoes. We are so grateful for Sarah’s artistic vision and yeoman efforts in taking the Inn’s garden to the next level.

Picture yourself relaxing here!
